Sofia International Airport is located on the outskirts of Sofia, in the eastern district of Iskar and within its ring road, beltway 18. Once you collect your car hire in Sofia International, you can reach the city centre in about 20 minutes, driving westbound on Brussels Boulevard and Tsarigradsko Shose along the Geo Milev neighbourhood. Depending on traffic, you may be able to approach the city centre faster from the north, driving past Reduta on Botevgradsko Shose.

To escape to the sea, Varna is a 5-hour drive east on the A2/E70, and the Golden Sands resort is 16 km north on the E87. Alternatively, explore the border city of Ruse, 300 km northeast.
