Erzurum Airport (ERZ) is found in eastern Turkey. It provides services for the military as well as for the general public. As of 2011, more than 809,000 passengers used this airport for domestic travel, while approximately 16,000 international travellers passed through its gates. Common destinations include Istanbul, Ankara and the resort town of Antalya. SunExpress, Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines are the three primary carriers that operate out of Erzurum Airport. It is found 11 kilometres from the centre of the city of Erzurum, and there is a parking area available that can accommodate up to 200 vehicles. Local Enterprise Rent-A-Car offices are found within the domestic flights terminal (the only main terminal). The offices are directly to the south of Route D100, although it is also possible to arrive via the E80 national motorway. This is often the preferred method for those who may be travelling from the town of Erzurum. Although traffic conditions are normally light to moderate, it may still be prudent to avoid rush hour by arriving here early in the morning.
